Roger and Susan met through a mutual friend and bonded over a shared interest and focus on spiritual growth and awareness. In 2007, they married at a ceremony in the Texas Hill Country.
In 2012, they moved to Colorado Springs when Roger was offered employment here. That move proved to be a real momentum booster for their energy healing work.
The name of their website, ShinRey, is a combination of their last names: Susan Shinsky and Roger Reynolds. It adequately symbolizes their ability to function as a team and conceptualizes their commitment to each other and their work.
After many years as a small business owner, I attended Southwest Texas State University and received my Bachelors of Arts and Sciences with an emphasis in Psychology in 2002. I then went on to receive my Masters of Arts degree with a major in Professional Counseling in 2006 from Texas State University-San Marcos. Shortly after, I met the requirements of Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC).
I worked in counseling and therapy for several years, primarily in crisis centers and shelters, working with children, adolescents, adults, and families affected by domestic violence and sexual assault and abuse. Working in the telephonic EAP department at United Health Care / United Behavioral Health, I expanded and honed my skills in crisis intervention and learned a great deal about the mental health system.
At the end of August 2012, I resigned my position at UHG with the move to Colorado Springs
I have done volunteer work with children in the child welfare system through the CASA organization and accept clients for part-time counseling and therapy private practice. More information about this part of my work can be found at http://www.susanshinsky.com/
In addition, for over fourteen years, I have studied and practiced several energy healing modalities. My enthusiasm and passion for these alternative methods has been fueled by a sincere desire to help each person discover their own inner truth and reach their intended purpose.
It is my belief that each of us has a unique constellation of issues and experiences that require a customized combination of methods and modalities to help us achieve our goals. Human potential has indeed expanded far beyond the old paradigms and is greatly benefited by thinking outside the box.
In 2016, I discovered Biofield Tuning, sound therapy with tuning forks. My experience with this method has proven to be a remarkable addition to energy work and counseling! In combination with the other healing methods at my disposal, it is a very powerful tool.
While I have been honored to have facilitated and witnessed profound change in many clients through powerful therapeutic tools, never have I seen such meaningful change as Biofield Tuning produces! Added benefit? It starts with the first session ….
Roger was born into a career military family and spent many years in Germany as a youngster. He then entered the military as an adult, where he learned mechanics and subsequently worked in intelligence. After leaving military duty, he studied electronics at the university level and went to work in manufacturing in the Silicon Valley computer industry. It was there that he became interested in meditation and energy healing.
During that time, he began taking courses in Qi-gong, meditation, and Reiki. He has also taken some shamanic training and learned to develop his intuitive skills in the use of crystals and stones, as well as various energy healing tools. He is also well-versed in the use of essential oils and is a Young Living distributor.
Roger has gained a wealth of knowledge regarding the health and balance of the physical body, which has been invaluable in energy work. This, and his study and training with various alternative healing methods, has enhanced his natural empathic abilities.
It is his belief that most illness first manifests in the etheric body as stuck energy. This, in turn, has attracted him to the Biofield Tuning method and the use of tuning forks to clear and balance energy in the energetic and physical body.
He has found this work to be very satisfying and fulfilling.
